
Dr. James Elsey
Treasurer
Dr. James Elsey had a 30 plus year medical career in the Atlanta area while simultaneously serving in a US Army MASH unit as a reserve officer. His clinical specialty is Vascular Surgery and he recently served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Elsey currently serves on the American College of Surgeons' Health and Policy Advocacy Organization, bringing his extensive medical expertise to healthcare policy discussions. He has a long history of civic involvement in child abuse prevention, demonstrating his commitment to protecting vulnerable populations.
One notable honor was the opportunity to run the Torch prior to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, recognizing his contributions to his community and profession. Dr. Elsey recently moved to the Charleston area and is looking forward to supporting the Fisher House mission.
His unique combination of medical expertise, military service, and financial acumen makes him an ideal treasurer for Friends of Fisher House Charleston, ensuring the organization's resources are managed with the same precision and care he brings to his surgical practice.
