Kathryn Cox

Board of Directors

Kay arrived in Charleston from Connecticut in 2018 just in time to be a volunteer as the house opened. She is one of a number of the Order of St John members who support Fisher House Charleston, reflecting her commitment to service and helping those in need.

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Kay brings professional expertise in supporting families during times of crisis and transition. Her clinical background provides valuable insight into the emotional and psychological needs of military families facing medical emergencies.

Before moving to Charleston, Kay was very active in several charitable organizations including the New Britain Museum of Art, the Hartford Stage Company and the Renbrook School. Her extensive nonprofit experience and understanding of organizational governance makes her a valuable board member.

Kay's combination of clinical expertise in family therapy and hands-on volunteer experience at Fisher House gives her unique insight into both the immediate needs of families and the long-term impact of the support services provided. Her dedication to service continues the mission she began on opening day.
