Charleston Day School 3rd Graders Raise $1,202 for Fisher House Through Read-a-Thon

Charleston Day School’s third graders set out to do something meaningful — and delivered. The class organized a read-a-thon and raised $1,202.41 for the Charleston Fisher House, then visited the House in person to learn about the mission their efforts support.

The students got a firsthand look at how the Fisher House serves veteran families navigating medical treatment away from home — and discovered that reading more books translated directly into real support for real people. That kind of early lesson in generosity tends to stick.
