Friends of Fisher House Charleston Opens Its Doors to the Community

January 24, 2026Event Recap
Supporters and staff gathered outside at the Friends of Fisher House Charleston open house, with a decorated cake on a branded table

On a sunny January afternoon, Friends of Fisher House Charleston threw open its doors to the community for an open house. Supporters, volunteers, neighbors, and partners gathered on the grounds to connect, learn about the mission, and celebrate the House and the veteran families it serves.

The Charleston Symphony provided live music, Curated Thyme catered the food, and Major General James E. Livingston led the ceremonial cake cutting — a fitting tribute from a decorated veteran to a place built in service of those who have served.

Thank you to everyone who came out and to the volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly. Events like this remind us that the Fisher House is more than a building — it’s a community.
