The 2026 Daniel Island Field of Honor Raises $16,000 for Friends of Fisher House Charleston

The 2026 Daniel Island Field of Honor raised $16,000 for Friends of Fisher House Charleston. Vice President Chris Ward accepted the check from the Exchange Club of Daniel Island, which plants 1,000 American flags at River Landing Park each summer in honor of those who served.

We were in good company at the presentation. The Tri-County Veterans Support Network and One80 Place each received a $16,000 check from the club as well.

The Exchange Club set aside $1,000 of our gift for groceries, so its members can cook for the families staying at the House. They already know their way around the kitchen: in August, club volunteers served a dinner of chicken, roasted vegetables, and dessert to the veteran families at 150 Wentworth Street.

Thank you to the Exchange Club of Daniel Island, to the Field of Honor sponsors, and to everyone who sponsored a flag this summer. Your support keeps the doors open and the pantry full for veteran families while someone they love is receiving care at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.
